Weekly Update May 4 - 8

Dear Grade 3 Families,

The warm weather has finally arrived! My family is spending as much time outdoors as possible this weekend, going for bike rides and playing in the backyard.

Thank you for joining us for our Google Meet last week. It was a great chance for me to review some perimeter and area work with you. This week’s meeting will again be on Wednesday at 10:00 and 2:00. I will send the invite to join about ten minutes before the start of the meeting. The focus for this week will be on reading. We are going to review features of non-fiction texts together.

The Grade 3 team has put together the video of us going on our 1km walk. It looks like everyone had a lot of fun walking, biking, skateboarding and scootering! It took most of us about 12 minutes to walk 1km (or 1000 meters).

Enjoy the video attached in the link below:

Please note: if I have forgotten any of your pictures, just send me a quick note and I can add it in! If this happens, I will send a new link to our video.

Our Workspace for next week will be posted this evening. The focus this week for language is using predictions when reading, and grammar. In math, we will continue with learning about area and introduce transformational geography (flips, turns, and slides). If you have any questions or challenges when completing these tasks, please send me an email and I’m happy to help in any way that I can.

Also, this upcoming week is Catholic Education Week. The theme for this week is Igniting Hope. See the flyer below for details about how you can celebrate with your family at home.

Have a wonderful week!

Igniting Hope/ Allumer la flamme de l’espérance

Catholic Education Week May 4-8

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” (Romans 15:13)

«Que le Dieu de l’espérance vous remplisse de toute joie et de paix dans la foi, afin que vous débordiez d’espérance par la puissance de l’Esprit Saint.» (Romains 15, 13)

This week is Catholic Education Week. Please join us in celebrating the distinctive contributions our school makes in the lives of our students and our community. We would love to see examples of how our St. Anne community “Ignites Hope” in others.
